The Grapes of Ateni

The indigenous Kartli varieties behind our wines — Goruli Mtsvane, Chinuri and Tavkveri.

Our wines begin with the native grapes of Kartli, grown in the Ateni Valley near Gori. Goruli Mtsvane and Chinuri are crisp, high-acid white grapes — the backbone of Atenuri and our sparkling wines. Tavkveri is a pale, low-tannin red that gives our light reds and Tavkveri Rosé. Each is indigenous to this corner of Georgia, handpicked from our vineyard and shaped by the valley's cool nights and mineral soils.
